Here is a list of children’s book illustrators who work with PAL publishers I’ve found on Substack so far. I started keeping it mainly for my own records but am sharing it in case others are interested. Update June 13, 2023: HarperCollins art director, Jeanne Hogle, told me she loves my list of children’s book illustrators!

I also didn’t add some illustrators because I couldn’t easily find a list of books they’ve illustrated - please include a link to a page where people can easily browse your children’s books (so we don’t have to go searching, thanks). [Edited: June 13, 2023 - I notice that a couple of the names on this list have not yet posted, so from now on, I’ll only be adding those who have made at least one post on Substack.]

If you aren’t taggable, I will list ONE of your newsletters; I’m opting for personal links since some of you have multiple newsletters. 🙂 Also, an unrelated tip: make sure your NAME is included in the first paragraph of your About page on Substack - I keep coming across newsletters where I have to search for the full name of the creator. I also recommend including a byline on posts, in case people read issues out of context.

I have nothing against indie publishing or publishers not on the PAL list, but I lack the time to maintain a list of indie-published illustrators or research non-PAL publishers.
